About

I am Omar Robles, a passionate photographer who has made it his life’s work to record the grace and force of dance in metropolitan settings. The human form, the grace of movement, and the vibrant energy of the city are all celebrated in my art.

I was always interested in the arts growing up in Puerto Rico, and when I moved to New York City, photography turned out to be my real calling. I was inspired to investigate the relationship between dance and urban life by the city’s busy streets and diverse cultures, and I have been documenting the magic of this link ever since.

I try to bring out through my lens the feelings and tales that the dancers and the city they live in are hiding. I think that dance is a universal language that can convey the full range of human experience, and that the art of photography has the ability to connect people from all walks of life.

My art has appeared in important journals and been shown in galleries all over the world, but working with the talented dancers who motivate me every day has been my greatest reward. I consider photography to be more than just a profession; it is a way of life, and I feel privileged to share it with others.
